  • But for the audio…

This would be a great podcast if the audio wasn’t so terrible on a consistent basis. Considering this is being released by the State broadcaster (TV and radio), there really is no excuse for the audio to be as bad as it is. The most recent episode is one of the worst quality released.

  • Good content ruined by terrible production quality

I’ve always struggled with the low volume of these podcasts. I usually listen while working out in the gym, so acknowledge that may be a factor. However, this week’s episode with Bernard Jackman and John Smit was unlistenable! The interviewer, acoustically, sounded like he was in a bathroom and the volume levels were significantly below those of Bernard and Jon, which made the podcast unlistenable. Believe me, I tried, but I couldn’t persevere with turning the volume up and down, depending on th... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Munster and Leinster set to turn it up to 10 at Croke Park as Ulster let loose on Bulls
Q: Jonny, what would be your target areas if you were drawing up a Munster game plan this week?
The plan would focus on disrupting Leinster's air game with a mix of tight contests and occasional wider attacks, while leveraging Munster's physicality in midfield and on the wings to force mistakes and create quick ball to counter Leinster's pace.
Ireland must take England out of comfort zone
Q: What are your thoughts on the upcoming match against England?
It's going to be very intense, and I'm excited about it, but I think England will be a tough challenge for Ireland at Twickenham.
Ulster continuing impressive rebuild as Six Nations comes into focus
Q: What are your thoughts on Ulster's recent performances?
Ulster has been impressive lately, particularly with their victory against Munster.
Leinster's end of season grade and Lions come into focus
Q: Did you ever find yourself dealing with relationships between players from different teams?
Professionally, players tend to park their differences and focus on the mission of winning.
Leinster's end of season grade and Lions come into focus
Q: How can they kind of spin the critics' perceptions as motivation?
It's difficult to depend on external criticism for motivation every week. The fear factor and pressure to perform were significant for them in the URC final.
