I gave this almost a good 2 dozen episodes (all over from #30 - #180) before I came here to write this review. It's an AMAZING show! My app tells me I've listened to almost 2 full days of Mike & Phil talk about many of the amazing games from my childhood (Phil often talks 80s games) and from earlier this millenium. When most gamers talk about RPGs they reminisce and talk in hyperbole of impeccably realised worlds and stories, and fully dynamic systems. These RPG gamers have played a lot, and like to get real about them. Passionate, friendly, whacky, knowledgable, and actually critical. That's RPG Backtrack, the best game podcast ever. more
There's one dude on here who is literally the worst.
The first seven minutes of this podcast was ruined by the intro music going on and on Episode 140 "Is it really that bad?" Which now makes for two episodes ruined by the sound guy... good work guys. more
I before gave a less than glowing review, but after listening to a great many more episodes I think I spoke too soon. more
