  • UN crime issues

I found this through the Global Initiative’s Deep Dive podcast, which I found truly excellent. This one is more niche, but still some interesting issues. And the episodes are quite short and focused.

The interviews featured on this pod are great! All about organized crime discussions on the international scene. I found this pod through another podcast series from the Global Initiative, on the impact of coronavirus on organised crime, which is really fascinating!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A new hope for fighting environmental crimes?
Q: Simone, what makes environmental crime a priority for the international system beyond traditional crime concerns?
Simone argues that environmental crime is transnational and multi-actor like other serious crimes, has severe human rights impacts, and threatens planetary habitability, which warrants stronger international cooperation and a clearer political signal through a new protocol.
