Q: Shan, what's new in your collection in the past two weeks?
Shan shares that he lost a few pygmies but that the remaining ones are eating well. He's getting ready for the breeding season and is generally pleased with his collection.

I've been breeding various species of boas and pythons for nearly 20 years, expanding my collection and researching their genetics and breeding behaviors.

Q: Could you tell us about your journey in herpetology and how you got started?
I grew up in a family with a lot of pets and my parents had a pet store. My first experience with reptiles came when I was around 15 or 16 when I saw a snake for the first time in an enclosure, which sparked my interest.
