  • First episode. Now I’m hooked.

I always listen to podcasts while cleaning my snake cages. I don’t know why the thought of killing two birds with one stone never crossed my mind. Cleaning jungle carpets while listening to Morelia Radio has made my evening. Thanks guys! I subscribed for more, Trace Hardin. HardinHerp.com

  • Great Information and Sense of Community

As stated in the title. However, please do something about Owen’s intermittent choppy sound, it’s very distracting and disruptive.

  • Best herp podcast period!

By far the best herp podcast there is. Even with a lifetime of dedication to herps and over 30+ years in the industry I routinely learn new things from this show from the hosts and various guests. A spectacular source of information!

  • Info quality great, sound quality poor

Great content, but impossible to listen to. One person will be impossible to hear and if you adjust the volume than the other person will be too loud to comfortably listen to. Please upgrade your equipment to match the quality of info/guests you have on.

Carpets & Coffee #118
Q: How did you get into reptiles and start breeding?
Ryleigh explains starting with family support, first exposure to a corn snake at a pet shop, then learning from expos and vendors, and finally pursuing breeding, especially focusing on clown and pied recessives while expanding into locality-based projects.
Hypos & Tigers Oh My...Kyle Harpet of KH Reptiles.
Q: What is the mode of inheritance for hypo? Is it polygenic or a simple incomplete dominance?
Hypo is an incomplete dominant trait with a super form; supers can sometimes be identified by expression, but a definitive genetic marker hasn't been established yet, so breeders prove them out by crossing lines.
Hypos & Tigers Oh My...Kyle Harpet of KH Reptiles.
Q: Tell us a little about your background and what led you here.
Kyle describes starting with classic carpet pythons during adolescence, exploring different species, and eventually getting into hypos after researching and connecting with breeders, which led to his KH Reptiles hypo tiger projects and long-term breeding strategy.
When is it to late to breed Carpet Pythons? Eric & Owen
Q: Do you run into issues when you're feeding?
Yes, you must separate them because they can get into a feeding response and potentially harm one another.
When is it to late to breed Carpet Pythons? Eric & Owen
Q: When do you know that you missed the window for breeding?
It's really hard to say; it's often tied to individual circumstances and the unique behaviors of the pythons.
