A有些是人生的轉折點：有些緣分，改變了一個人的一生。一次相遇、一句話、一位老師、一個貴人一位朋友，甚至一本經書，都可能成為人生的轉折點。
B，有些既可以是人生的轉折點，也可以是一場美麗的錯誤，其本質取決於我們在因緣當下與過後的對應
佛教的觀點來說，緣本身沒有固定的意義。善緣、逆緣、順緣、惡緣，都只是因緣和合的顯現。真正決定它成為「轉折點」還是「美麗的錯誤」的，往往是我們後來如何看待、如何運用這段因緣。

云何名為三種漸次。一者修習，除其助因。二者真修，刳其正性。三者增進，違其現業。
一者修習，除其助因涵義：在初修禪定時，必須先戒除助長貪、瞋、癡等煩惱的外緣。
實踐：例如在飲食上永斷一切葷辛（如蔥、蒜、韭等五辛，因其熟食發淫、生啖增恚），並斷除殺、盜、淫等行為與助緣。
2. 二者真修，刳其正性涵義：已經發心真實修行後，必須進一步拔除內心深處「貪愛與無明」的生命根本。實踐：從心念根源處觀照，斬斷十二類眾生輪迴於世間的「殺、盜、淫」等根本習氣與執著。
