Came to this having watched Defence of the Realm at a local cinema. I was delighted to find that this is a place where people discuss their love for British cinema and really take it seriously. Looking forward to listening more podcasts and importantly rediscovering UK film.
I stumbled upon this podcast by searching for discussions about Performance (1970) and love the theme of strictly British cinema since my top three favorite films (Performance, A Clockwork Orange, and The Devils) were all made in the UK by (mostly) British filmmakers (Donald Cammell/Nicolas Roeg, Stanley Kubrick, and Ken Russell). I love the wide ranging selection of films and would love it if they reviewed O Lucky Man! (1973), Frightmare (1974), and The Final Programme (1973).
As a young person discovering older films, this podcast is helping me dissect them and feels like I’m joining in a conversation about them even though people I know in real life haven’t seen them!
I’m know for promptness but I arrived late to this podcast. TPTV peeked my curiosity and I’m not disappointed. Cheers, and keep up the splendiferous work.
Scott and his co presenters are always bringing great conversation about a range of British films - some I'm familiar with and some I'm not. The gents always sound like they're having a great time and bring insight into their conversations about British cinema history. Great work, fellows.
