  • Paul Lozada

I think you need to do more background on Paul. Parts of his story sound like BS to me. Doing twenty-five years and not getting a pension does not make sense to me. There is more to that than he said. If that is not true, I would imagine that other parts of his story are not true either.

  • Why so secretive?

Who is the host of this podcast? Why doesn’t he ever introduce himself? Only podcast I know where the host is anonymous. It makes the show suspect.

And the intrusive, sudden ADVERTISEMENTS—while a guest is MID-SYLLABLE talking usually!!—are so obnoxious that they show a complete contempt for the listener. Very authoritarian. Typical cop behavior.

Retired BOP Officer's Raw Story: Gangs to Guard | Mario Ramirez
Q: What led to your termination and what did you learn from that experience?
I reported misconduct, which triggered retaliation and a complicated aftermath that culminated in my termination. While painful, the experience reinforced the importance of accountability and integrity, and it underscored the reality that standing up for what's right can come with serious personal and professional costs.
Retired BOP Officer's Raw Story: Gangs to Guard | Mario Ramirez
Q: How did your experiences outside the prison shape your approach to work inside?
My background gave me a practical understanding of the environments inmates come from, which helped me relate and communicate, while also reinforcing the need to maintain professional boundaries and discipline. It informed my approach to de-escalation, cultural awareness, and earning respect through consistency rather than aggression.
Retired BOP Officer's Raw Story: Gangs to Guard | Mario Ramirez
Q: What were the pivotal moments that pushed you toward a career in corrections?
Growing up with a difficult childhood and seeing my mom's sacrifices, I wanted a path that could offer stability and a way to build a better life, which led me to sports, discipline, and eventually law enforcement. A key moment was realizing I could channel my experiences into helping others and mentoring at-risk youth, which aligned with a long-term goal of making a positive impact.
NYPD Auto Crime Boss: Jon Schwartz's 25-Year OC Busts, Gotti Chases & Unbreakable Badge Life
Q: Is the job any more dangerous back then when Eddie Byrne got killed to now?
Different. It's more sophisticated now, you know, the laws have changed in regards to firearms possession in New York City.
NYPD Auto Crime Boss: Jon Schwartz's 25-Year OC Busts, Gotti Chases & Unbreakable Badge Life
Q: What's the goal? I mean, obviously, you want to preserve a little bit of history.
The reason why we did the car was is a tribute to the kid, to Eddie, to maintain that car. But also it's a symbol.
