先日、教会から駅まで、およそ20分の道のりを、主人と妹と私の3人で、神名流しとごみ拾いをして歩いていました。すると、妹が突然転んでしまいました。
幸い頭や顔をぶつけることはありませんでしたが、病院で診てもらうと、左腕の剥離骨折。三角巾で腕をつるし、不自由な生活を送ることになりました。
そのことをきっかけに、それまで妹が教会でしてくれていたことを家族みんなで分担するようになると、「こんなにもたくさんのことを毎日黙ってしてくれていたんだ」と、あらためて感謝の思いが湧いてきました。
５月末、ある教会の奥さんから妻に相談がありました。
「私がお手伝いしている日本語教室にベトナムの生徒さんがいるんだけど、その男の子に使ってもらえるランドセルを探しているの」とのこと。さっそく「うちの息子のお古で良かったら喜んで」とお返事して、一度ランドセルを見に来てもらうことになりました。振り返れば、５人いる我が家の子供たちのランドセルには、それぞれに色々な思いが詰まっています。
私は今年、重度訪問介護の資格を取得し、週に一度、障害のある方の支援に携わるようになりました。
私が担当しているKさんは、視覚障害と知的障害の重複障害があり、発語もありません。「言葉が通じない利用者さんと、どう接したらいいのだろう」。不安を持つ私に、長年Kさんを支えてきたスタッフの一人が、こんな話をしてくれました。
「私はKさんのことが、自分の息子みたいに可愛いんです」。
