  • Useless.

You deleted literally your entire back catalog. Thousands of episodes, and only 21 random ones available. Don’t even bother.

  • Quality declined

Used to be awesome! Now it isn’t so good. I see that they’re trying to diversify their guests and experiment with new formats but the quality is super uneven. Part of RA’s broader shift away from good editorial content in favor of being a ticketing platform with advertorial content on the side.

  • For an Electronic Music Noob, This is a Goldmine

I know very little about the world of electronic music except the fact that I like it. This podcast is informative and captivating. Martha is such a talented host, I’d listen to her on any show. Love this show for long drives.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EX.797 Ed O'Brien
Q: How has stepping into a solo career changed your relationship with making music?
It's allowed me to reframe my role from being the support in a band to steering the emotional and sonic direction in a more intimate, less hierarchical setting, while still valuing collaboration.
EX.791 Loraine James
Q: As you wrap up, who or what in the past few years has been the biggest influence on you?
My mum stands out as a guiding influence; her belief in me and her musical background helped me stay committed. Beyond family, the gradual realization that I could move between genres and still be authentic has been crucial, along with the support and openness of Hyperdub to let me explore freely.
EX.791 Loraine James
Q: Will we be hearing a Clubby Lorraine album in two years' time, and what would Clubby Lorraine sound like nowadays?
Clubby Lorraine will likely happen as a balance between danceable energy and emotional depth, with room for funkier grooves and more dynamic textures. I want the club to feel alive and expressive, not just floor-focused, so expect music that moves the body and the mind.
EX.791 Loraine James
Q: So I guess my question would be, what does feel like a Loraine track and what did this alias project allow you to express that working under your own name didn't?
The Whatever The Weather project let me explore more ambient, non-vocal textures and a sense of emotional detachment that actually freed me from the pressure of making Loraine sound a certain way. It was easier to experiment without the weight of a specific persona, and that space contributed to a broader emotional palette I now use in my main work.
EX.792 Tiga
Q: What sparked your return to making music after a long hiatus?
A combination of enough high-quality music, momentum, and a genuine excitement to create an album, rather than any master plan.
