What leads a guided missile to its target?
Q: How do guided missiles reach their targets?
Guided missiles can reach their targets using methods such as inertial navigation systems for stationary targets or various sensor capabilities for moving targets.
How do gravitational waves keep their energy?
Q: Do gravitational waves also experience a red shift just as light waves do?
Yes, gravitational waves experience redshift as they travel through an expanding universe, but they lack the discrete features to measure it directly as light does.
How do gravitational waves keep their energy?
Q: How is the energy conserved so well that we can detect gravitational waves here on Earth?
The energy of gravitational waves dissipates over large distances but is immense enough at creation to be detected with sensitive instruments.
What would you find at the centre of Saturn or Jupiter?
Q: What would happen if you go to the core of one of the biggest giants?
Jupiter and Saturn are composed mostly of hydrogen, which transitions from gas to liquid and then to solid under high pressure, and this solid hydrogen is metallic, potentially surrounded by diamond rain.
Why do clouds move in a different direction to the wind?
Q: Why do clouds move in a different direction to the wind?
Clouds can move differently than wind at ground level due to factors like wind shear and friction at the Earth's surface.
