Episode 26 | Trans-Investigating, Binders & Gender on Stage (feat. Em Powell)
Q: Welcome into the studio this week. Would you like to describe yourself, your vibe, your aesthetic?
Em Powell describes herself as an American theatre maker and artist, promoting her Scene and Heard show and her collaboration on Fag and Dyke Get Cancelled, with a playful-yet-pointed take on queer performance and online culture.
Episode 29 | Lavender Marriages, Hollywood Cover-Ups and Queer Film-Making
Q: Why was having an intimacy coordinator important for this film?
Intimacy coordination ensures safety and consent, but it also unlocks creative possibilities by allowing the team to rehearse and refine movements, making scenes feel more authentic and comfortable for actors, which improves the onscreen intimacy and overall quality.
Episode 29 | Lavender Marriages, Hollywood Cover-Ups and Queer Film-Making
Q: How did you two come up with the concept for the film and how did your collaboration work?
We started from a personal story that felt visually strong and then adapted it into a screenplay. Leah helped shape the screenplay into something shootable, and we built a deep trust by alternating directing and writing roles to support each other, ultimately sharing input across every stage from concept to post-production.
Episode 39 | Queer Trivia Returns!
Q: Which film tells the story of Elio and Oliver?
Call Me By Your Name.
