  • Really unpretentious super detailed podcast

This is a really high-quality well researched podcast. I much prefer it to The Rest Is History even though it’s tonnes more fun. Couldn’t get enough of the Maggie P eps and am inspired to read The Mirror and the Light now even though I previously thought that would be a really dry book.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Royal Yearbook with Even the Royals
Q: Can you tell us about your themed beverage tradition?
We pick a queen and create a cocktail inspired by her story; it's a fun way to mix history and drinking together.
Royal Yearbook with Even the Royals
Q: What made you want to do a show together, and why the Queens Podcast?
We've known each other for the majority of our lives. We're both theater majors. When podcasting came around, we thought it would be fun, and here we are eight years later.
Royal Yearbook with Even the Royals
Q: So what about royal lives have you taken away from the past year?
Basically, it pretty much sucks. And if you have a vagina, your only job is to push out a child, and it better be a male. Real love is hard to come by.
Elizabeth Bathory Tarot Reading
Q: Was her house arrest as intense as the traditional story goes?
Her house arrest was indeed very strict, resembling a desolate prison rather than a comfortable setting.
Elizabeth Bathory Tarot Reading
Q: Was Elizabeth Bathory really the bad guy?
Yes, but the extent may not be as severe as tabloids have suggested; some elements may have been politically motivated.
