I like all of C-SPAN programs/podcasts some more than others. I consider C-SPAN to be one of the most valuable news organizations in America.

  • Collins unable to justify his actions. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Admittedly—he is a remarkably intelligible man who effortlessly and diligently tried to be forthright about the operations of the NIH during his 12 year career. He touted great leadership and results but I don’t think he realizes the abject failures and his incompetency FAR outweighed all benefits he bestows and lauds. I think he is extraordinarily disillusioned. The actions of the NIH and WHO was nightmarish. After hearing him speak and defend his actions, I found his pitch extremely wanting. N... more

  • Bruni is Looney

I confess he is articulate and he at times tries to be middle ground, but I sincerely feel you don’t have to be a keen listener to notice his blatant bias towards the Left and his penchant to slam the Right. It was so painfully obvious to me that he indeed has TDS. In fact, It was so ostensible to me that it hurt his argument astronomically. He treads carefully over this subject as though walking on eggs at times, but then he just implodes when his ferocity toward Trump cannot be contained. He e... more

  • Sound quality needs to be better

I saw this mentioned on other comments, and I agree that the sound and audio quality needs to improve on Q&A. Otherwise, I greatly enjoy it. Thank you.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Adam Szetela, "That Book Is Dangerous!"
Q: Is this driven by Gen Z, or more broadly by millennial readers and industry workers?
While generations contribute to the dynamic, the evidence points to a millennial cohort—people who came of age on elite campuses and later moved into publishing—being particularly influential in shaping these trends, with Gen Z increasingly aware but not the sole drivers.
Howard Mortman, "Extreme Mortman" Podcast Host
Q: What makes the WHCD so challenging for delivering humor, and how do you balance it?
Mortman notes the tough gig requires a spine of steel and an understanding that humor must avoid crossing lines, balancing entertainment with the responsibilities of political discourse while respecting varied audiences.
Howard Mortman, "Extreme Mortman" Podcast Host
Q: Where do you get your ideas for Extreme Mortman and how do you decide what to feature?
He says ideas come from events and current happenings, aiming to show how what is happening now has happened before, connected to video support, and driven by personal interest and the desire to tell new history from existing footage.
Howard Mortman, "Extreme Mortman" Podcast Host
Q: Howard, how did you get into the business of politics and communications?
Mortman explains he grew up a political junkie in the Washington, DC area, developed a love for C-Span, and pursued storytelling through the video library, eventually becoming the Communications Director at C-Span and creating Extreme Mortman to mine archival material for new stories.
Jennifer Levasseur, Space History Curator
Q: What was Sally Ride's mission about beyond breaking a barrier for women in space?
Ride's mission showcased a scientist-astronaut profile, demonstrated teamwork and dexterity, and served as a symbol of broader inclusion in NASA, while highlighting the essential role of women in mission-critical tasks.
