8月21日から22日にかけて、テキサス州ダラスに230㎜以上の雨が降りました。多い地域では、400㎜を超えました。1000年に一度の豪雨と言われています。その影響で、ダラスのあちこちで道路が冠水、河川や湖に近い地域で鉄砲水が発生するなど、洪水被害も出ました。

ポッドキャスト収録時はまだ上院を通過して下院に送られたばかりだったので、上院通過という内容になっていますが、バイデン大統領が署名をすませて法案はすでに成立しています。
