  • Found them from the Aliens franchise reviews

Never really listened to this type of analysis on a film review podcast, let alone horror. Their episode for Alien: Covenant had my attention, so I downloaded the rest of the franchise, and now I’m hooked and subscribed!

These three have made me a believer. Jeremy, Emily, and Ben bring it every week! Between excellent guests, great selections, monthly themes, and everything else under the sun, I’ve never looked at horror under so many progressive lenses thanks to them. This podcast is your one-stop shop for this genre from spoopy to existentially terrifying!

Super entertaining and in depth recaps of sometimes great and sometimes terrible horror movies. Moving beyond the blood and guts and jumpscares to talk about the politics that lie underneath the glossy surface. Jeremy, Emily, Ben/Bee and a rotating panel of guests keep the conversation lively and entertaining! Check it out!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Velocipastor (aka Hinged Enough) with Tomi Trembath
Q: What makes Velocipastor work as a piece of intentional schlock?
Its confidence in its own crazy premise, paired with surprisingly strong craft, allows it to lean into absurdity while still delivering genuine, character-driven moments and self-aware humor.
Bring Her Back (aka Columbia House Resurrection Collection) w/ Cullen Bunn
Q: Cullen, where can people find you online and what are you currently working on?
Cullen points to his website, cullenbunn.com, as the hub for all projects, social links, and his newsletter, with ongoing work across comics, novels, and related media.
Tales from the Hood - Black Director's Month
Q: What are your thoughts on the depiction of domestic violence in the film?
The directors aimed for a stark depiction of domestic abuse, portraying it realistically without holding back, even if it's presented in a cartoony way.
Candyman (2021) - Black Director's Month
Q: Did you get every bee out?
Yes, I did. Every single bee.
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (aka Les Incompétents) with Justin Richards
Q: Justin, do you want to tell people a little bit about The Slasher's Apprentice?
It's a book I wrote from Mad Cave Studios; it's our homage to Slashers and inspired by the movie we're discussing tonight.
