  • Gonna try one more episode

I think my problem is that I listened to them trip ignorantly over the Opeth album, spending half the episode repeating over and over and over again after repeating themselves over and over about how they don’t like “screaming.” Even if you don’t like something about a genre I would expect a podcast on Prog music to at least recognize the artistic intent behind any element of art that is unpleasant or different than the norm. After all, everybody got to elevate from the norm. Guttural singing ... more

  • For the love of music…

Unaccustomed as I am to writing these reviews (seriously, this is my first review!), Prog Notes is an enjoyable podcast where a couple of blokes talk about their passion of progressive music and hope to share that passion with us, the listeners. The format is simple - pick an album from the progressive music archives, whether old, new, formative to the genre or an album that pushes the definition of progressive and talk about ist for an hour.

  • Good Podcast, great community

Destin and Drew bounce between analyzing my favorite albums and showcasing creative music I’ve never heard. Always a good listen! The online community can’t be beat; I’ve become a Patreon supporter and will continue to support anything these guys make. Fantastic and fun.

  • What about the music?

Listened to the Pink Floyd Animals episode and it pretty much solely focused on the lyrics. How can a podcast about progressive ‘music’ not talk about the music? And even when they did speak of the music it wasn’t very insightful.

  • Prog Notes Is Amazing

These two men are incredible at podcast making. They try to include albums from all over the prog verse to keep everyone interested, and they do a phenomenal job at it, even when they dislike the album (Pawn Hearts cough cough). The 15th of each month is a date I look forward to, because it means new Prog Notes episode! Keep on podcasting Destin and Drew!
