オスが子育てをする動物は哺乳類では少数派です。子育てをするものでも、全てのオスがするわけではなく、無関心あるいは子供を攻撃するオスもいるなど、個体差があります。この切り替えに関わるスイッチを見つけた研究を紹介します。
ドーパミンは快楽物質などと言われることがありますが、これは単純化しすぎだとされます。また、主流であった報酬予測誤差のシグナルであるという考えも、最近の研究結果から不十分であると考える研究者がいます。
