  • A lovely listen!

I like board games but don’t play them much - However, I think anyone with a passion for any hobby can relate to the hosts, and listening really wants to make me dust off ticket to ride or Catan and gather the family! A great listen!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ask Us Anything
Q: Are you still pursuing acting gigs or personal projects outside gaming, and what would make you come out of retirement?
Currently not actively pursuing acting roles due to focusing on family and health, but would consider projects that are a good fit locally and with people they enjoy working with.
Ask Us Anything
Q: Have you ever thought about licensing a game with IP (e.g., Marvel) to create a new game, and what would you require to make it feel unique?
Open to licensing only if the project would be genuinely unique to that IP, not a simple reskin; meaningful investment and IP alignment are required to make it feel fresh and respectful to both fans and the original game.
Ask Us Anything
Q: Would you consider bringing on occasional guests to the podcast, and what would that look like?
The door is open to occasional guests, particularly designers or publishers, but logistics and maintaining the show's two-person dynamic are important considerations to handle well.
Ask Us Anything
Q: What are your thoughts on board game movies based on existing IPs or games, and which games could translate well to film?
Movies should respect the game's mechanisms and pacing; some IPs lend themselves to cinematic storytelling, but it's tricky to translate interactivity to screen. Wingspan and similar games could inspire thematic movies if treated with care, while existing IPs like D&D have clearer cinematic paths.
Ask Us Anything
Q: How do you make sure people enjoy a new game you're teaching and have you ever pulled the plug and stopped a game after explaining the rules if people don't seem interested?
When teaching, focus on the other players' enjoyment, tailor guidance to their needs, and select a game that suits the group. If disengagement is clear, pivot to a lighter option or a backup game to keep the session fun.
