Pop Culture Role Call is a weekly podcast that reviews television and movies from different characters' perspectives. Each week our geek panel (panel of hosts) watches the same TV episode or movie each assigned their own character role. They will only watch scenes that their character is present in, leaving them with only part of the bigger picture.

I really like this format - have gotten hooked through the Buffy series. It’s fascinating hearing such different takes on a show I know and love deeply, purely because they don’t see everything.
The unique format of this podcast is super satisfying. I listen to a lot of rewatch pods for my favorite shows, and this one really stands out. It forces you to see the show in a whole new light. It’s borderline cathartic to listen to “the characters” fight it out and say what you wanted their tv counterparts to say to each other in the first place. Also super fun whenever a long-running secret gets exposed. Keep up the great work!
All of the hosts are fantastic and play off each other very well. They have a super unique way of watching the shows they're covering, which leads to some interesting analysis and discussion that you wouldn't find on a typical recap podcast. Having listened through the multiple shows/films they've covered, I still find it enjoyable and funny even if i'm not familiar with the property that's being discussed. If you like media discussion and character analysis then I can't recommend this podcast e... more
This podcast is rad! The premise of each host taking on the viewpoint of a single character is fun and unique. Being involved with the Patreon community that surrounds PCRC has been a delight.

The podcast offers a unique take on popular television and film by organizing discussions around the viewpoints of different characters. Each episode features a collective of hosts, each assigned to a specific character role from the series or movie they are reviewing. This means that each host only watches the scenes relevant to their character, leading to a fragmented yet insightful narration of the plot. The approach encourages a deeper analysis of character dynamics and motivations while allowing humorous banter and a mix of perspectives to thrive. With episodes covering various series, notably 'The Magicians,' listeners can expect a blend of wit, character exploration, and thematic discussions that tap into emotional nuances and narrat... more
