  • Decent content, horrible voice

It’s an okay show with some decent opinions but I simply cannot stand the Matt guys voice. He has a monotonous and drunk sounding voice that makes my ears bleed.

  • Die hard hockey

From someone not from the area this is a podcast I even enjoy listening to. They are loyal Flames fans but they will point out their faults just as much as their strengths. With that, they will give credit where credit is due when another team out scores the Flames. They are highly knowledgeable in hockey in general but the amount of detailed facts they have in, not only, Flames history, but in other teams history as well, is amazing to hear.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 416: Winning the Wrong Games?
Q: What strengths does Huska bring to developing a young team, and is he the right coach for the Flames going forward?
The hosts defend Huska's track record on player development, especially defensemen, and argue that his ability to push young players while managing a growing roster justifies keeping him through the rebuild, with the caveat that coaching decisions should align with the franchise's long-term goals.
Episode 416: Winning the Wrong Games?
Q: Are there any newcomers you predict will be top-tier standouts in the near future for the Flames or elsewhere?
They highlight Gridden and Parek as strong candidates among the young group, with potential for high-end contribution, while noting that body type, development trajectory, and team context will determine if they become top-line players.
Episode 416: Winning the Wrong Games?
Q: With the skilled pool of players and the draft assets, what is the process the organization should follow to land a definitive roster?
The speakers suggest a flexible strategy: keep promising young players who show progress, use veteran depth judiciously, and leverage the large asset base to target a first-line player in future trades, while prioritizing players who fit the team's rebuild and culture.
Episode 411: Huberdeau’s Hips Don’t Lie
Q: Kevin, how are you doing?
I'm not 100%, but I'm going to make it through; I'm going to be the Chris Tanner of podcasting, playing hurt but here.
