Was good but narrators can barely speak English, heavy accents, poor presentation bad pronouncing dumb stories too many colonialisms. Just annoying now.
And amazing collection of podcasts I've listened to for years. Today I finally decided to post a review in gratitude for the hosting of a series focused on Palestinian voices. I'm a queer Jewish American who has visited and volunteered in Palestine twice, once 12 years ago & again this year 6 months into escalated genocide in Gaza. This people, their traditions, cultures, & lives matter. Thank you for sharing their stories & helping to humanize people experiencing the worst horrors imaginable.
I’ve listened to 5 or 6 of the stories from Podcastle so far and they have clearly gone for a very broad definition of Fantasy with this one. Only one of the stories I’ve listened to so far has been what I would consider fantasy, with the rest falling squarely into the ‘weird fiction’ genre as I see it. Now of course this is fair enough, people can write and broadcast what they wish, and at over 800 episodes they are obviously doing something right. Great variety. Enjoy it on the commute. Sometimes there is a string of “alt” themes that get dragged out a little to long but easy to delete those and get to the fresh stuff.
Great mix of stories. Some are more to my taste than others (of course), but they all transport me to another place and I’ve never heard a bad one or a boring one.
Over time, I’ve come to realise that the stories that aren’t to my taste are actually the best ones - they help me see the world through different eyes, encourage me to develop empathy for people that aren’t like me, and generally broaden my horizons.
