Pinocchio gelingt es, die Marder zu stellen, und so wird er vom Weinbergbauer frei gelassen. Dann kommt er an einem Stein vorbei, auf dem eine Grabinschrift den Tod der Fee anzeigt. Pinocchio ist zutiefst verzweifelt.
Pinocchio geht mit Fuchs und Katze zum Wunderfeld um die fünf Goldstücke zu vermehren. In der Nacht wird er von Räubern überfallen, die unbedingt an sein Gold wollen.
