Episode 23: Alex Hall & Tami Draves
Q: What were the ways your parents and other important adults in your life supported you?
Alex reflects that his parents provided unwavering support in pursuing his interests and passions, including music. They bought him his first guitar despite not being a musical family, highlighting their belief in his potential.
Episode 24: Tenille Townes & Lisa Huisman Koops
Q: Do you have advice for families who have teenagers? Would you encourage parents to say, hey, why don't you try songwriting?
I think it's got to be a little bit of both. In some ways, maybe a young kid wouldn't know that the resources are available or that it's a safe place to go to let your feelings out.
Episode 25a: Trent Wagler and Eric Brubaker
Q: Can you tell us about the role that the instrumentals play within the vision of the album?
We hadn't recorded something that was just instrumental based since maybe 2015. These fiddle tunes, set within the Steel Wheels arrangements, tie back to our regional roots and take listeners on a journey.
Episode 25a: Trent Wagler and Eric Brubaker
Q: Could you give us a brief overview of The Steel Wheels, who you are, where you based, all of that?
The Steel Wheels are a folk rock band based in Virginia, starting almost 20 years ago with members spread across the country. They host a summer festival called Red Wing Roots Music Festival and also conduct a string camp for kids.
