Pagenerd is a sci-fi book club for people who suck at book clubs. You can read along if you want, but we’ll tell you what happens and have some fun figuring out the science, plot and characters along the way. In each episode we pick a sci-fi novel — current or classic — and explore its world and characters, discussing what it would be like to exist in that novel and how well it's realised on the p... more

Somehow, Ishiguro has written a book that Sarah found both boring and emotionally devastating at the same time. The banality of the language is part of the darkness of this semi-dystopian trip inside the mind of Klara, a solar-powered artificial frie... more
The Pagenerds are back with part two of The Dispossessed, where Ursula K. Le Guin somehow takes an already brilliant book and makes it hit even harder.

The Pagenerds finally tackle Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed, which is a lot in the best way possible. Naturally, we had to split this one into two parts.

So thrilled to have found this! Love the in depth analysis and banter, I’ve binged all the episodes in 2 days! Also love the book store/library shoutouts they do. I’m going to Portland in a week and I’m for sure checking out Powells. Keep it up yall!!!
I just subscribed, and I really enjoyed the recap of Murderbot. I plan to listen to all the episodes of books I’ve read so far. If you don’t have friends with the same reading taste as you, this is a great way to revisit the books you’ve read and hear someone else give their two cents.
As advertised a shared book club of relevant and recent sci fi. Good mix of talent, perspectives, and commentary. Not overly generous, cliche, or academic.
The Frankenstein episode caught me. This is great for me as an asynchronous book clubber :)

A science-fiction book club podcast where a standing group of hosts reads a mix of current and classic titles, then unpacks worldbuilding, character arcs, and the science behind the fiction. Episodes balance rigorous analysis with humor and personal anecdotes, often weighing how well each work imagines technology, society, and ethics while keeping discussions accessible for listeners who may not have read the book. A defining trait is the group's ability to connect genre tropes to real-world science, pop culture, and literary craft, sometimes featuring sponsors or live library shout-outs to ground conversations in community resources.
