Bring back Tony Tedesco!!! I listened religiously to the show when he was on!

Also Natasha Vinik make my blood boil with her fake annoying laugh! I turn my radio off every time she is on!

  • The Dream Team of David and Tony 5

This show is amazing, I believe David fills in for Jim but if Jim ever decides to move on, it should be give to these two! I mix of serious discussion, interviews and then surreal with his foreign correspondent. Always entertaining, sometimes irrational but always hilarious!

Wish I could listen live more often, but still glad I can get my Jim fix. David Copper isn’t too bad either.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

It's 'bonkers' we're tolerating open drug use, says Windsor's mayor
Q: Is there a practical path to getting people into treatment instead of jail?
Yes, the discussion centers on increasing treatment options, such as rehab beds and medical personnel who can route people from streets to care, rather than relying solely on policing, while acknowledging budget and capacity constraints.
It's 'bonkers' we're tolerating open drug use, says Windsor's mayor
Q: What does that cost though?
There are questions about the cost of expanding treatment—beds, rooms, rehab—and who should pay, with concerns that funding may fall to taxpayers and that there may not be enough capacity to absorb those costs.
Why has the US launched a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz?
Q: Can the US blockade actually stop the flow of oil safely without triggering a broader conflict?
It could be possible in the short term with outside containment and careful coordination, but the operation would be technically challenging and politically delicate, risking escalation if ships resist or flag nations react.
Is shoplifting on the rise?
Q: Is there a difference in theft patterns between high-value items and everyday goods, and how should retailers respond?
The guest notes that organized crime drives many high-value thefts (tools, electronics, liquor), while ordinary shoplifting often involves opportunistic grabbing; retailers should balance deterrence (guards, cameras) with sensible policing and clear protocols for staff safety.
Is shoplifting on the rise?
Q: What evidence is there that shoplifting is rising in Canada, and what can small businesses do about it?
According to StatsCan discussions referenced by the crime expert, shoplifting has risen notably (a 66% increase from 2014 to 2024), and securing a visible police presence and staffed security can deter theft, though practical enforcement realities limit responses.
