云鹿柔迩《欧洲全史》一书，分为《中古欧洲史》和《近世欧洲史》两篇。《中古欧洲史》叙述了从公元5世纪西罗马帝国瓦解到16世纪为止的欧洲历史进程。《近世欧洲史》主要讲述了17世纪初代议制度及科学兴起至20世纪初的近代欧洲史进程。全书讲述了欧洲各国的政治、经济、思想及艺术等方面内容，对人类活动中的重要人物，查理曼大帝、马丁·路德等人一生都做了详细的论述。全书叙述严谨，语言简洁，通俗易懂，可以说是一部非常好的欧洲史入门书。
何炳松（1890—1946），现代知名史学家和教育家。字柏丞，浙江金华人。其著作有《历史研究法》《历史教育法》《西洋史学史》《秦始皇帝》等。他较早介绍西方史学理论与方法，强调西方史学原理与中国传统史学的对比与贯通，与梁启超并称为“中国新史学派的领袖”。
