  • 5/5 tool to use in training for the AFSPECWAR pipeline

Most useful podcast I’ve found whether it be for pipeline updates, life advice by thinking “what wouldn’t Aaron do”, and learning that Gag orders are viewed more as a bedroom thing than an actual Air Force doctrine thing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 578: You’re Not Stuck—You’re Just Lying to Yourself With Marc Longwith
Q: Marc, what advice would you give to folks trying to level up and do that next thing?
Two simple pieces of advice: always seek wisdom because others have done it before, and be bold; confidence comes after taking action and gaining mentors. Also, surround yourself with people who will help you grow, because that support makes a huge difference.
Ep 572: Leadership Advice You’ll Ignore Anyway | Combat Rescue Officer - Vance Hawk
Q: What was it like transitioning to the Crow role within Five Troop and later leading in the STS environment?
Hawk describes a sharp shift in culture and expectations—from the rescue-focused pipeline to a more bureaucratic but highly professional environment—emphasizing the importance of leveraging experienced instructors and evolving training to keep pace with real-world missions.
Ep 572: Leadership Advice You’ll Ignore Anyway | Combat Rescue Officer - Vance Hawk
Q: How were your experiences down at INDOC?
INDOC presented extreme challenges, with a mix of rigorous physical/leadership expectations and the need to manage large groups of new airmen; Hawk highlights how the experience, while brutal, built resilience and demonstrated the necessity of practical leadership and adaptability.
Ep 571: Rejected, Resilient, Still Serving The Bros | TACP - RJ Hunter
Q: What made RJ decide to pursue such a diverse set of specializations within the military, and how did his path evolve?
RJ describes a persistent desire to serve that persisted after setbacks, leading him to try multiple services and eventually settle into the TACP track. He highlights the appeal of breadth in mission sets and the willingness to adapt through medical waivers, reassignment, and pursuing instructor duty as a way to stay connected to the field while building leadership and teaching skills.
Ep 561: Being a Dad, a Warrant Officer, and a Creator—With OnexPunchxDad Josh Green
Q: What kind of advice would you impart to those looking to join the military or even get into content creation?
Join the military ready for anything and be a team player. In content creation, focus on being a respite from negativity, sharing positive experiences, and lifting spirits.
