I am a career GA pilot who is going to get a seaplane rating next week. I have found this podcast to be very informative and entertaining. It has definitely made me even more excited to get into floats. Excellent guests and the host does a great job. I feel like I am in a pub listening to old friends chat. Keep up the good work Dan!
Dan Bolton thoroughly prepares and presents an "A grade" and quite addictive range of stories and information about ALL things Seaplanes.
Dan has reunited me witha close association with floating hulls and seaplanes in general and it really thank him for that.
Most impressive is the candour and detail Dan brings to the human side of flying all things that float.
His passion is addictive and his presentation is real, informative, and simply great listening.
Keep it upMallardguy!
Great engaging seaplane podcast. Dan gets the most out of his guests and makes for sensational listening. If you are into aviation or are a pilot start listening. You don’t have to have sea planes on the radar, but it will be after you put on your headphones and flip flops and stride out onto the step!
Well done Dan really fantastic interview I absolutely love these interviews. I think I’m going to come visit and get a rating on the buccaneer
As a 39 year old student pilot in Queensland with a aim to be a float plane pilot these podcasts have been very helpful.
Regards
Ray
I’m an airline pilot looking to reconnect with my GA roots by getting a floatplane (SES) rating. I found “On the Step” about a year ago and have listened to most episodes. I find Daniels’s guests interesting not only for useful information but also it’s interesting to hear other pilots stories on how they got into aviation and the career path they have taken. Additionally, I find the descriptions of places of the world I’ve never been to very interesting and are inspiring me to want to take a... more
Dan keeps coming back with another guest with a fascinating story to tell. I’m just a recreational/light sport land pilot but these flying boat stories are pretty inspiring. Thanks Dan!
Not a pilot but I love the stories
Love hearing the variety of stories from the seaplane industry around the world! Dan does a professional job at sharing these stories. Keep it up!
What a good podcast - I’ve flown for many years but I’m going to get a seaplane rating now 😁👍
Having worked my way through every podcast (twice), I’m an avid fan.
The most incredible thing with this podcast is learning just how diverse the floatplane industry is.
Every guest has a completely different story to each other, working in entirely different environments.
I’m just starting out my flying career, hopeful let Dan is still recording the podcast in 20 years time so I can feature as a guest to inspire others!
If you are at all interested in seaplanes then you have to check this out. Even if you just enjoy amazing stories and discussing a very unique corner of aviation this is a podcast for you! Check it out and you won’t be disappointed!
Really great if you're interested in aviation. Has a casual feel to it without feeling like it's crudely made. Feels like a seaplane version of pilot to pilot so if you like that give this a listen.
I have now worked my way through all the episodes and can wholeheartedly say that this podcast is essential listening for any body interested in aviation and serious about seaplanes. Great work Dan! Keep it up!
Pushing play on each new episode is like I’m unwrapping a gift full flying stories, seaplane facts, and float flying tidbits.
I suggest Dan’s podcast to everyone interested in float flying.
