  • Fantastic Resource for Student Pilots!

As a student pilot, I’ve found On Centerline to be incredibly helpful and encouraging. The hosts do a great job breaking down complex topics in a way that’s easy to understand, while still providing insights that are valuable even beyond the private pilot level.

I really appreciate how they cover everything from flight planning and ATC communication to real-world tips that aren’t always taught in ground school. Listening to this podcast makes me feel more confident every time I go up for a less... more

  • What a great resource!

I just passed my PPL today. Have really enjoyed Sam’s ACS breakdown and his teaching style. I’ve also really appreciated the way he approaches CFI topics - it has helped me identify and voice the things I need to be done differently in my instruction (narration vs teaching) and hopefully will make me a better CFI when I get there!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Multi-Engine Ground School Part 3: Performance and Limitations
Q: Why aren't there accelerates go charts for light twins?
Manufacturers do not guarantee climb performance on a single engine for light twins, so there isn't a published accelerates go distance; pilots must rely on manufacturer data, POH performance charts, and practical estimation.
Multi-Engine Ground School Part 3: Performance and Limitations
Q: What is the impact on performance when an engine is lost on a multi‑engine aircraft?
The host explains that the loss typically results in a dramatic drop in excess horsepower, often around 80% to 90% for light twins, meaning far less climb capability and a higher emphasis on maintaining directional control and safe flight path.
