We've been busy around the Scoop offices and that's the way we like it. OU spring football media day was on Monday and Carey is here with some of his impressions since Eddie and George have been burning up the YouTube channel. Got some leftover thoug... more
The podcast is a big one this week because with spring sports, there is plenty to talk about. Aliyah Chavez WAS NOT the SEC Freshman of the Year! How does that happen? Cooper Witten's commitment was huge as the Sooners get ready to host a massive Fut... more

Love the content and used to listen weekly but it’s painful with this many ads. Live reads are cool and now they have the automatic ads that abruptly interrupt the conversation. I’ve listened to these guys for years. And there was a time where I would listen to every episode, but the quality has just tanked. There are so many ads and they always come mid sentence and then the ads the guys “read” completely ruin the flow of the discussion. Why not prerecord your ads instead of doing them off the cuff. It’s sloppy and the pacing of the podcast just grinds to a halt for minutes at a time. I also think the depth of discussion is worse than it used to be, but I’m not going t... more
Love the show, but wow are there a ton of ads.
I listen/watch all of your shows and Unofficial 40 podcast is my favorite. You need more shows with Carey. Really enjoy Carey’s insight on this podcast.
I used to think this was the best OU football podcast, but most of what y'all do anymore is basically navel gazing. West of Everest and The Oklahoma Breakdown are Waaaaaaaay better. Josh is still pretty good about recruiting info, but he needs to use the players' names more because it's easy to get lost in one of his 10 minute tirades full of "he"s and "him"s.

The show centers on Oklahoma athletics with a heavy emphasis on football recruiting, NIL dynamics, and in-season programs, mixing analysis with candid banter. Episodes frequently cover recruiting trails, coaching moves, player development, and the transfer portal, alongside occasional basketball updates and broader college sports context. A notable trait is the lively, opinionated ensemble dynamic and a willingness to dive into behind-the-scenes studio chatter, NIL implications, and roster shakeups, which many listeners find entertaining and informative. The format often blends sharp takes, guest insights, and humorous banter, making it a go-to for Sooner fans who want both depth and entertainment in national and local sports discussions.
