Original, engaging and empathetic
Just finished the podcast about Mississippi - so sweet the way the whole town opens their arms. However the comment about ‘treating racehorses well’ in relation to slavery will stay with me for some time. Jack’s non-judgemental attitude helps further understanding across the divisions.
We are really enjoying this deep immersion into small town Mississippi life! Highly recommended!
I happen to live in the town where Jack made season 2, and everyone was abuzz about this British guy who came here to experience the South. We have all been so impressed by the resulting podcast. He’s done a wonderful job capturing the personalities that call this place home because he approached each and every one of us with curiosity and respect. Each episode is clearly made with so much care, and Jack is super talented to boot. You’ll be glad you listened!
Jack’s podcast dive into Columbus, MS is very well produced and is reminiscent of “This American Life”. This podcast flows well in pacing and is an easy listen for anyone interested in travel and small town southern USA.
