Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A Conversation with Anand Chandra Sekaran
Q: What advice would you give to someone about to begin their process of becoming an instructor?
Brush up on core knowledge before entering an IDC and don't expect to learn new concepts; it's about teaching others how to relay the information effectively.
A Conversation with Alicia Christman
Q: Tell me how and why you became a diver?
Alicia's journey began in college where she took her first breath underwater and immediately fell in love with diving, eventually becoming an instructor.
A Conversation with Gideon Liew
Q: What can they expect when they are about to come be evaluated by Gideon?
If you've already reached the point where you are applying for an evaluation, it means that you've done it all and understand the approach, the system, and the curriculum well enough to present that information.
A Conversation with Gideon Liew
Q: What is the best piece of advice that you could give to a recreational diver from another agency that wants to come in and do a fundamentals, or they kind of want to start going down the GUE process?
Don't worry too much. Just come for the class with an expectation of having fun learning. You do have to come into the class with an open mind.
A Conversation with Curtis Connor
Q: What is the best piece of advice that you could give to those people or that person who wants to get back into it?
Talk to somebody who is like, even if they want to reach out to me through my podcast and talk to me, I'll be glad to talk to them.
