Bonus Episode!!! Aaron Capouellez!!
Q: What started this path for you, and how did it evolve to get to where you're at today in the community?
Aaron shares his journey from childhood experiences with frogs and toads, through challenges in keeping them as pets, to starting a nonprofit to promote frog conservation.
Joe Mailhot of Frograck!!
Q: How do you manage hydration and water features with them?
I keep shallow water dishes in with them, using small bowls that hold about a half of an inch of water. It's essential to keep the water clean and frequently maintained.
Joe Mailhot of Frograck!!
Q: Could you walk us through like a year of keeping them through like summer temps to going into brumation?
A good maintenance temperature is 76 degrees. They should cool down at night and tolerate temperature fluctuations as part of their life cycle. They can survive temperatures down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit, needed for encouraging breeding among females after a brumation period in the winter.
Warren Klein of Bushveld Reptiles!!
Q: Is the Bushveld albino different from other albinos?
Yes, it is considered a true amenalistic albino with distinctive orange glowing eyes.
Warren Klein of Bushveld Reptiles!!
Q: How did I get into house snakes and what got you to where you're at today?
Warren shares that house snakes have been constant in his life since childhood in South Africa, where they were his first pets.
