Would appreciate not having to hear ads read by the former MTV Real World cast member masquerading as a qualified and merit-based Cabinet member.

I like the fact that this is mostly a professional podcast devoid of fan type angst and emotion.

I have enough of that and listen to other podcasts that have enough of that.

Sometimes I need to be grounded and Sahadev and Patrick do that with solid and informed analysis and not knee jerk emotional discourse.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Cubs mailbag: Your questions on the trade deadline, pitching development and more
Q: What will the Cubs do to ramp up internal pitching development, especially as it relates to the bullpen?
They've started tweaking things internally, adding players with upside rather than big-name relievers, promoting internal pitching leadership, and emphasizing velocity development and depth to build a more versatile bullpen while continuing to evaluate and add arms through the system.
Cubs mailbag: Your questions on the trade deadline, pitching development and more
Q: With the Cubs clearly eyeing a wild card spot and not the division, they won't part with major prospects like Matt Shaw to bolster their pitching, right?
They're unlikely to move Matt Shaw right now given his value and the organization's preference for developing internal pitching, though nothing should be ruled out entirely; the front office has indicated they'll listen but prioritizing current performance and long-term core remains the plan.
Cubs keep sliding, PCA's FIRE, Giants series preview w/FP Santangelo
Q: How important is Pete Crow-Armstrong's energy to the Cubs' clubhouse and on-field performance?
Crow-Armstrong's fiery, passionate approach provides a spark that teammates feed off, but there's also a need to balance that edge with composure and consistency to ensure it translates into sustained success.
Cubs mailbag: Lineup questions, offseason choices, pitching development concerns
Q: The Cubs had a good off season, but hindsight is 2020. Which of these would help the Cubs most this year? A 35 plus homer slugger, an ace starting pitcher, Dylan Cease, or a lockdown closer like Devin Williams?
Based on the discussion, acquiring Dylan Cease would significantly bolster the rotation and alleviate depth concerns, with a tighter bullpen and potentially freeing resources elsewhere. They also discussed the possibility of a high-leverage reliever as a complementary move, and the general sentiment leaned toward improving the pitching staff overall rather than chasing a single batting power addition.
Cubs mailbag: Bullpen panic level, trade deadline thoughts and more
Q: Is the bullpen a concern or is it too early to freak out?
It's too early to freak out, but the bullpen is under observation; Maton is struggling and the team is weighing how to stabilize the late innings while evaluating depth pieces and veterans.
