  • Terrific interview

I stumbled across Kira Skov thanks to a music review in Politiken. That led me to her iTunes portfolio which is both unique and haunting, and by the way expansive in many senses. From there I wandered into the November 2020 Nordic Portraits podcast interview with her. It is a brilliant interview from perspectives of both the interviewed and the interviewer. An incredible artist’s life story is drawn out with disarmingly casual ease by an equally talented interviewer. It was my lucky night: ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Caspar Eric
Q: Do you feel hopeful about effecting change, or is action more important than hope?
Hope can slow us down if treated as a guarantee; I'd rather people actively create change now, even if it's imperfect, because urgent action beats waiting for a perfect future.
Caspar Eric
Q: What was the motivation behind shifting toward longer, more political works like Kripp Dikter?
Kripp Dikter emerged from seeing that political systems often undermine care for disabled people; I wanted to question the value of sharing innermost thoughts if it doesn't lead to real change, pushing art to have a tangible impact beyond readers.
Caspar Eric
Q: How did your disability influence your writing trajectory and the subjects you chose?
I initially wrote about life without foregrounding disability, but later I realized I could and should bring disability into the foreground to challenge representation, resulting in more personal, political, and socially engaged poetry.
Caspar Eric
Q: Where did your first interest in literature come from?
It started with a chance encounter with a family friend who was a major screenwriter; she introduced me to books and urged me to read and write, and from there I moved into a structured path through readings and high school in the arts scene.
Bjarke Ingels
Q: Has your motivation or purpose changed over the years?
Ingels states that while the core challenges remain, new questions and conflicts arise, necessitating evolved solutions as he grows in his architectural journey.
