  • Too many ads and off-topic ramblings

Nontendo is a podcast that clearly has potential, but right now it's a frustrating listening experience that often gets in its own way.

The biggest strength of the show is the hosts themselves. They bring a lot of energy, personality, and enthusiasm to every episode, making it easy to see why people would enjoy spending time with them. When they truly dive into the main topic, they do an excellent job of explaining concepts, providing background information, and educating the audience. Some of ... more

  • Great podcast but ad frequency is too much!

I appreciate the voice you all bring to the gaming space and enjoy listening! However, it can be hard to enjoy when Iโ€™m blasted with ads every 10 minutes or so. I doubt the ads are catered to me since I keep getting gambling/casino ads and I donโ€™t gamble or search anything gambling-related.

  • Car Crash Fascination

Listen to three grown men talk over each other while their self elected leader pretends to provide a Nintendo podcast which is actually an advert for his hot sauce business. I canโ€™t stop listening to this total car crash of a pod cast. The co-hosts have their heads screwed on and make sensible comments but are totally talked over by the host. The dialogue is chaotic, and Iโ€™m tempted to analyse an episode and lay out that the majority of time is arguing, host domination, self promotion. The lates... more

The BEST and WORST of Nintendo with AVGN | Nontendo Podcast #160
Q: How do you decide what to cover or review next on your channel?
I follow a mix of planned content, audience interest, and what I'm personally curious about, often combining new releases with forays into older or obscure titles to keep the channel fresh.
The BEST and WORST of Nintendo with AVGN | Nontendo Podcast #160
Q: What's your take on the Switch 2 and the current generation of Nintendo hardware?
Having a Switch 2 is handy, but if you already own a Switch, upgrading isn't strictly necessary; it's about what you want from the new hardware and the games that come with it.
The BEST and WORST of Nintendo with AVGN | Nontendo Podcast #160
Q: What gave you the idea to start making videos on YouTube in 2006?
The early 'nerd' videos came from wanting something fun after finishing a serious college project. It was a playful, throwaway moment that unexpectedly resonated and grew into a full-fledged channel as YouTube evolved.
The Nintendo Switch 2: Three Weeks Later (w/ Celia Bee of Yacht Club Games) | Nontendo Podcast #142
Q: How different was it working for Nintendo back in the days of Shovel Knight compared to now?
Celia indicated that she'd have to take a rain check on that one due to changing leadership and trends.
The Nintendo Switch 2: Three Weeks Later (w/ Celia Bee of Yacht Club Games) | Nontendo Podcast #142
Q: What inspired Yacht Club Games to go for a crowdfunded game instead of going to a publisher?
Celia explained that building a community around the game was important, similar to what they accomplished with Shovel Knight.
