  • I still enjoy this show a lot

Random J K Rowling hate while not being educated on what she said herself is insane.

Great show, you guys are clearly so passionate about this series, and hearing you talk about the things you love (and those you’re less fond of) is a blast!

  • From casual fan to Stan

This podcast is just stunning. I’ve always ran (not walked) to any regularpat video essay, and I would say at this point I’m more of a fan of him than I am of kingdom hearts.

I saw a clip of the podcast online and was sold. PJ and Pat are giving me flashbacks to me in high school talking to my best friend (who had a region free ps2 and a copy of RE:COM - I’m from the uk, that was a huge thing!) talking about kingdom hearts theories and what it all meant. And it’s making me fall in love with th... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Music of Kingdom Hearts With David Russell | NO SAD FACE: HISTORIES AND TIMES Ep. 8
Q: What would you choose as a hook for introducing KH music to someone unfamiliar with the series?
The group agreed that while Dearly Beloved is iconic, it isn't the sole hook; a combination of world themes like March Caprice, and the broader emotional through-line of the soundtrack, helps convey KH's story to newcomers.
Episode 8: The χ Saga | No Sad Face Podcast
Q: How might Kingdom Hearts 4 impact Pat's opinions and his streaming approach?
Pat anticipates a measured, non-live-streamed first impression for KH4, possibly releasing a Let's Play in a structured cadence rather than real-time chat interactions, to balance audience engagement with a thorough, personal take on the game.
Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link with Sonny Novus | NO SAD FACE: HISTORIES AND TIMES Ep. 6
Q: What was your initial reaction to the KH4 reveal alongside Missing Link?
Sonny describes mixed reactions, noting that fans debated what to care about more, and observed the juxtaposition of a major mainline release with a smaller tentpole title.
Hanging With the Master of Masters (RAY CHASE) | No Sad Face Archives
Q: Which character did you most enjoy dubbing: Noctis, the Master of Masters, or Eve?
Noctis remains Ray's favorite to dub due to long-running character development, with the Master of Masters being especially fun because of the mystery and variety in lines; Eve is demanding physically due to transformation scenes in Nier.
Talking The Lost KH Cartoon With Director Seth Kearsley | No Sad Face Archives
Q: What would you do in a perfect scenario where the Kingdom Hearts animated series was greenlit and you got to call the shots?
I would maintain the core emotional heart and character relationships, keep Sora, Riku, and Kairi at the center, and explore worlds with a distinct, evolving art style while preserving the essence of the game's lore. I'd also aim for a mix of 2D anime-inspired visuals with selective CG to fit the worlds, and pursue a flexible release format that could work both on streaming and traditional TV.
