  • Spot on!

After the reminder about thankfulness from this week’s episode, figure I ‘d post my first review. This group is always spot on in their NHL insight. They always address topics and questions that are top of mind for me. They hit them quick but with the necessary depth and context for us fantasy nerds. The guys have a good flow with one another too. Hardly any dead conversation or stilted thoughts. Seems like good folks to get a beer with and talk hockey. Cheers from California.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

2026 Trade Deadline preview; guest: Pagnotta
Q: Dave, it feels like there's two very clear favorites in the Eastern Conference right now, then a bit of a gap to the rest—do you see Montreal, Buffalo, Detroit, or others getting aggressive to close that gap?
Pagnotta explains that the focus is on teams that can realistically bridge the gap to the top tier, highlighting the need for a top-six center, a long-term fit on the top line, and a reliable defenseman; he notes cap considerations and the importance of matching a player's style with the coach's system, while also flagging potential big moves if a cup-contending team can wade through the cost.
Surging Ducks, Penguins, Mammoth; Week 17 pickups
Q: Who would you rather have for rest of season purposes, Karel Vemelka or John Gibson?
I'm leaning towards Gibson because the health factor is there for him and he's playing with a high level of confidence.
Sabres' GM change; Week 11 mailbag
Q: What do you think about the Oilers and their goaltending situation?
The Jarry trade doesn't impact my view of the Oilers significantly; their performance will largely depend on stars like McDavid returning to form.
Sabres' GM change; Week 11 mailbag
Q: How would you be attacking the Buffalo Sabres from a betting standpoint?
There might be a significant bump in performance due to the new GM, leading to an increased positivity and excitement around the team.
Wallstedt joins Calder race; Week 9 mailbag
Q: How should I manage my goaltending during this busy season?
It's tough to trade goalies, but you have to find someone in your league that needs saves and understand their value.
