A combination of seeking a new challenge and meeting Andrew Watson who introduced Adrian Ackhurst; leasing a cup car from Adrian opened the door to MG racing and a broader involvement with the Victoria scene.

The shift came as carbon-tub, FIA-spec cars became dominant; the Hardman era gave way to more competitive machines, and sponsorship dynamics plus the rise of Formula Holden's historic category pushed me toward historic racing as a sustainable path.

Q: When did you first get behind the wheel and start racing yourself?

I started karting after saving up from a full-time job, had my first competitive race around late 1992 at about 20 years old, and gradually moved into race cars, initially with a hand-built space-frame and later more advanced chassis.

Q: What was your very first memory of motorsport?

My earliest memory ties to my dad's race days, including being in the paddock as a seven-month-old, and later watching him at hill climbs and Ararat, which planted the seed for a lifelong fascination with racing.

I think it's about spending time with the crew and discussing what's going on with the car.
