A government employee leaked information to investigative reporter Ted Gup about the bunker being here at the Greenbrier Resort for Congress.
Hidden in plain sight. The Greenbrier Bunker | Deanna Hylton
Q: What do you think the most interesting thing about the bunker is?
To me, it's the plan, because what they were actually thinking is, you know, we tell people there's 60 days of food, so that means we can have someone stay here for 60 days.
The Atomic Pilgrim | James Patrick Thomas
Q: How do you think we can make nuclear disarmament my issue for more people in a time when it seems bleak again?
Unfortunately, we can't have just one issue anymore; we have other existential threats like climate change and artificial intelligence that we need to address alongside nuclear disarmament.
The Atomic Pilgrim | James Patrick Thomas
Q: Were you gung ho for the idea at the very beginning?
Initially, I thought it was a crazy idea and took a long time to consider joining the pilgrimage.
The Atomic Pilgrim | James Patrick Thomas
Q: Why did you and your group feel that walking across the country, like one of these walking tours, well, walking pilgrimage would be like, how did this idea come about?
The pilgrimage was seen as a form of prayer for peace, initiated by a Jesuit priest who wanted to walk towards the birthplace of The Prince of Peace as a response to the nuclear arms race.
