Brandon Setta of White Lighters, You Wish, and formerly of Nothing - Ep 306
Q: So Brandon, welcome to Musically Meditated Podcast. Could you share a bit about where you grew up and how that shaped you as a musician?
Brandon talks about growing up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a rough town with a strong sense of community, and explains how early exposure to coal industry towns, local scenes, and family military background influenced his drive to leave and pursue music. He also recalls early memories with Nirvana that sparked his guitar journey.
Pileup w/ Nathan Urbach - Ep 303
Q: What themes drive the album lyrically?
Home, growing up, and the tension between violence or hardship and the comfort of returning home, with imagery drawn from nature and personal memories.
Pileup w/ Nathan Urbach - Ep 303
Q: What was the recording setup like for Leave The Light On?
We recorded in a church-studio space called The Unknown in Anacortes, eight days with the core team, living in the space, tracking in a large room, and then later shaping the sound through arrangement and a later vinyl release.
Pileup w/ Nathan Urbach - Ep 303
Q: When did you start Pileup and how did the lineup come together?
I started it solo around 2018-2019, then gradually added a drummer, bassist, and later Ellie Conroy and others, eventually forming the current lineup.
bill. (is a band) w/ Cameron Grant - Ep 302
Q: How did you get that reputation for being one of the loudest live acts in the South?
In terms of other alternative music, if we're talking punk or shoegaze or indie or emo, I would say we're certainly one of, if not, the loudest band.
