I’ve been listening since episode 1 and love how meticulous your research is. I live in Philly yet didn’t know many things about MOVE. Keep up the good work.
I have been listening since the first episode and I’m so glad there is a new season. I knew a little about about MOVE, and was acquainted with several members and followers for a number of years, including seeing them at parties and having them come to my house on multiple occasions. All interactions were positive, and I had some good conversations. When this podcast came out in 2021 and multiple MOVE members started speaking out against the organization, my mind was blown - I have no idea abou... more
If you are looking for a podcast about the Move cult, this one is light years better than the propaganda other podcast.
I binged both seasons. Excellent research and storytelling. Lots of new information about the MOVE organization, which I assumed was non existent after 1983. I highly recommend for crime lovers and true story enthusiasts. This is a crazy story that has been told from many perspectives, but this is a fresh, well researched angle at the cult in its current form. It was great to get firsthand account from the former group members who escaped before it was too late! Kudos for their inspirational bra... more
I’ve learned a lot about MOVE since I found the blog and first listened to the podcast, but this podcast has such little sense of nuance. They tend to very passively describe the atrocities that happened against MOVE in favor of a sympathetic portrayal of the racist and violent Philadelphia police department and (in)justice system. We can at once recognize that MOVE was in fact a cult—an abusive and sociopolitically backwards one at that—without undermining the systemic racism and anti-blackness... more

A compelling true crime investigation reveals the intricate and disturbing narrative surrounding a Philadelphia cult known as the MOVE Organization. Through firsthand accounts from survivors and insiders, the content exposes systemic abuse, deception, and the tragic loss of lives tied to the cult. Notably, exclusive tapes, FBI files, and real-time reporting detail the escape of cult members, presenting a unique perspective on the often-misrepresented stories related to MOVE. The storytelling combines personal memories of brutality and manipulation with broader discussions on social justice, community response, and the impact of generational trauma in a bid to reclaim narratives long controlled by cult leaders and their sympathizers.
