Join Luke Westaway and Andy Farrant as they talk about cinema's greatest achievement: Disney Channel Original Movies. From X-TREME rollerblading, to Mermen, to homicidal smart homes, there's something for everyone in these brilliant, baffling films. Also, usually the mom character in the film is unable to cook, and this is considered richly comic. Hence the name.

Radio. What is it? Is it some kind of podcast, maybe? Or possibly a Winamp skin? If you find out, let the producers of 2012 DCOM Radio Rebel know, because I think they'd really appreciate it.

While Mom Can’t Cook, A DCOM Podcast is the thing I look forward to every single week, I can also attest to the fact that it has, in fact, ruined my life. It’s basically the “having a fake girlfriend in Canada” trope, but with grown-up friends. I constantly quote Andy and Luke to people, and when I try to explain the context for my quotes, it looks like I’ve fabricated two hilarious British men to be my imaginary friends. Everyone just sort of exchanges knowing smiles and sad nods. I’ve also tak... more
Hell yeas
I have run out of ways to tell everyone I know that they simply must listen to two British guys recapping middling-to-terrible Disney Channel Original Movies. Reader, how can I explain that they are missing out on the funniest audio content available on this green Earth?
I’m convinced they randomly change the names of one of the characters every episode, when they’re wrapping up the episode there’s always someone that I’m sure they’ve never mentioned before.
I wasn’t a massive DCOM fan, but Andy and Luke have been able to craft such hilarious descriptions and critiques of these once loved but offft they have not aged well movies. Not only is it great entertainment, it’s also educational, and was the sole reason many a times I’ve helped my team win trivia! And you too can* earn a free drink and chocolate, simply by listening to some of these awesome podcasts!

Two British hosts dissect Disney Channel Original Movies with playful skepticism, sharp humor, and a love for nostalgia. Episodes mix witty banter, thorough film critique, and cultural commentary, often weaving in pop culture detours, sponsor reads, and meta riffs on the show's own format. The approach feels approachable for listeners who enjoy humorous takes on retro media, movie trivia, and character-driven debates, with a distinctive emphasis on how teen cinema from the past intersected with today's culture.
Noteworthy angles include cross-era comparisons of DCOMs, running gags and running jokes, and a meta awareness of branding and audience engagement. The duo's chemistry and willingness to lean into silly tangents make the show entert... more
