I started with the blog Mirror Sydney, then I read the book, and now I have walked around Sydney listening to Vanessa Berry’s miniatures storying the city. I do love the way she zooms in the tiny to illuminate larger scales, forces at play, histories unfolding. When I arrived in Sydney in the mid 1990s I felt the city was not narrated enough, and as a result not discoverable. What a difference this would have made! Now waiting for Season 2!
Meticulous research and smooth production makes Mirror Sydney good listening; glâneuse Vanessa Berry is an expert explorer of Sydney’s byways and brings her inimitable touch to it all. Immediate favourite.
