Enjoyed episode 4. It’s another great instalment of the hero’s journey; exploring avoidance vs acceptance. Acceptance being the more skilful approach towards in terms of moving forward and alleviating distress. Really enjoying the stories that are woven into these often complex cognitive processes to make them palatable.
Although this podcast is primarily aimed at therapists/coaches etc., I found it extremely insightful, even though I'm not the main target audience. As the podcast coherently explains how using mindfulness techniques in the context of The Heroes Journey, can help one navigate their life more clearly. As we all get a little lost at times. Great hosts, and I'm looking forward to episode 2.
This conversation around the Heroes Journey aligned to ACT is really great and a fresh approach to (very) old stories. Love the very positive dynamic between Shamash and Calvin.
Thanks heaps to Shamash and Calvin for this; adding depth as well as fun narrative to the concept of auto-pilot in mindfulness. Enjoying these pithy and engaging episodes exploring the path of the heroes journey through the eyes of Mindfulness, ACT and personal experience; great stuff!
