  • Very Therapeutic With A Wonderful Voice

Mike’s voice is so soothing. Here in the US it’s an election year. This is a very stressful time, called pre-election stress disorder. I love listening to Mike.

I so loved your chat again with Val Bourne. She had a mine of gardening information and it certainly comes across her great love of plants! I loved it when she said “plant densely to keep the carbon in the ground”. That’s going to be my excuse now when I’m asked where are my “naughty spends” are going to go!

  • TJ Maher

I think this is one of my favourite episodes of the Mike the Gardener podcast. There’s such a strong connection between Mike and his guest who have so much in common, the conversation flows. TJ speaks so eloquently about his life as an artist and gardener, his strong belief that we should show respect for and care of the creatures who share our space and about how the difficulties he faced as a young man have shaped him. I’m looking forward to reading his new book, Grounded in the Garden, to lea... more

  • Head Gardeners

Thank you for an interesting series of podcasts with Head Gardeners, culminating in this one with Nigel Hewlish from Kingston Maurward. It’s been fascinating to learn more about their work, their individual gardens and what their challenges are. I will definitely take away Nigel’s wise advice, ‘To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail.’ We gardeners always work towards the next season optimistically. I’m already looking forward to your next season of podcasts but in the meantime will enjoy your ... more
