  • Interesting incites

Good choice of topics/people. I’m really interested in the transition from big to small and small to big, whether product or company.

As well as walking thru what didn’t work and trying to figure out why. I loose interest quickly if someone claims and a to b path to success.

Finding the Clinical Need Hiding in Plain Sight: Interview with LightForce CEO Alfred Griffin
Q: What are you most excited about at LightForce over the next 12 months?
The launch of metal braces, which broadens the addressable teen market and enables most practices to use a single LightForce system across both ceramic and metal options, while maintaining the demonstrated performance gains.
Regulatory Rigor as a Competitive Moat: Interview with Osteoboost CEO Laura Yecies
Q: What's the next big milestone you're most excited about?
Expanding capacity to meet unmet demand and scaling physician engagement to broaden adoption while continuing to pursue reimbursement pathways to make Osteoboost accessible to more people.
Regulatory Rigor as a Competitive Moat: Interview with Osteoboost CEO Laura Yecies
Q: What do you see as the major moat-enhancing elements of Osteoboost's approach?
The combination of a carefully chosen De Novo pathway, the special controls, and patented calibration features ensures that the mechanism (30 Hz vibration) reliably reaches the target bones, creating a defensible regulatory and technological moat.
Regulatory Rigor as a Competitive Moat: Interview with Osteoboost CEO Laura Yecies
Q: With a device that is used outside the clinic, what strategies did you use to run a robust trial, and what lessons would you share about study design and execution?
We used a blinded sham control with a convincing placebo and built in compliance reminders to reflect real-world use; enrolling at a single site was possible but slower, so in hindsight a second site could have sped up enrollment while maintaining lean operations.
Regulatory Rigor as a Competitive Moat: Interview with Osteoboost CEO Laura Yecies
Q: Are there a couple of things that really stand out about your regulatory and clinical journey that would be helpful for other Medtech founders to learn from?
Two big takeaways are choosing a regulatory path that aligns with scientific data and clinical goals, and designing a robust, blinded randomized trial with diligent compliance and real-world use considerations, which together create credible data and a credible market entry strategy.
