Really entertaining and knowledgeable hosts. The length of the episodes is a bit long and I wish they weren’t 3 hrs plus as I don’t have allot of time to commit. Maybe they could edit the episodes down a bit.
After listening to an MG episode, I love to revisit (or visit) these awesome (or terrible) films, and celebrate/cringe/appreciate/understand at a new level. Also check out Chris’ other podcast, CG Garage - also excellent!
The best movie critique podcast and my favorite podcast. Period. Chris, Dan and Erick have perfect chemistry. It’s like watching Frasier, just better. And if you like this, chances are you will also like Chris’s other podcast, CGGarage.
I've been checking out Martini Giant since the CG Garage days and it's essential listening for me now. I've been into watching all kinds of movies for 20+ years but I don't have as much time anymore to watch movies. However, I *find* the time to watch the great movies these episodes go over because I so enjoy the deep dives into filmmaking history and knowledge that the three hosts (and occasional guests) bring to each conversation. They are PASSIONATE about the craft and the lore involved with ... more
Chris, Eric and Dan bring a wealth of insider information to their longform breakdowns of a wide range of movies stretching from the popular to obscure, highbrow to schlock.
Listening to Martini Giant is like being in the office with them after a busy day working when we can all put up our feet, open a bottle and just share the love of movies, how they’re made, the history of the business and where it might be headed.
Highly recommended.
