I’m not the fan that you guys obviously are, but I’m definitely a bigger fan than I thought I was. I fell out of love with the sport when the personalities and style match ups left. I listen to you guys for 3-4 hours a day while at work, thank you for telling the stories that need to be told. My two biggest requests for future content would involve Super Brawl (round table or deep dive) and anything involving Jeff Sherwood. I really enjoy the thoroughness and comprehensiveness of their interest in MMA history, especially pre 2005. Kudos.
At the same time, I have a really hard time with looking for “great stories” that involve interviewing people who are MMA fighters and have committed horrific crimes.
I can appreciate “hearing from all sides,” but there’s a fine line to walk. Just my take as an mma fan with friends and family affected by violent crime and sexual assault.
What Mike is doing is essentially graduate level sociology, anthropology and history recording and analysis. If he were to wrap it all up into a thesis he could get a graduate or doctorate degree. Next time you think studying something is “useless” think of Mike
